Mobile, or at-home, veterinary care allows your pet to experience less stress and anxiety than a traditional veterinary visit from the comfort of your home!

Here are some recommendations to prepare for a successful home visit:

  • Fill out the requested new patient forms prior to the visit.

    • This allows us to focus more attention to your pet during our visit.

  • Locate and have previous medical records ready for the visit if they have not been previously emailed.

    • If you have them in digital format, feel free to email them to lavonveterinaryservices@outlook.com before the appointment.  This will help us to make the best medical recommendations for your pet and help us avoid repeating previous services not currently needed.

  • Confine your animal prior to visit.

    • Pets may run and hide when they hear us pull into your driveway or ring your doorbell.  It can be difficult and causes more stress and anxiety when we have to track your pet down in your house, or remove them from under a bed, for their needed wellness care!

    • FOR CATS: please confine them to a bathroom with a towel that smells like your home 30 minutes prior to arrival time.  They are smart, and always know when to hide. :)  This can greatly reduce stress for all of us.

  • Have all current/needed prescription medications or packaging out for the visit.

    • If your pet is being treated for any pre-existing disease(s) for which you need a refill (including flea, tick or heartworm preventatives),  it's very helpful to have the packaging and current prescription label instructions available at the time of the visit.

  • Be prepared to talk about your pet’s health!

    • Each home visit comes with a head-to-toe exam. After your pet’s exam is complete we will discuss the physical exam findings. This is a great time to talk about any issues or problems with your pet that are of a concern to you.

  • Know what to expect from us.

    • We do our best to show up during the pre-set appointment time, but please know some visits end of taking longer than expected (or traffic is worse than expected). We will communicate with you regarding our E.T.A. and if we are running late. We will have all of the needed supplies to conduct the exam, draw blood, and administer vaccinations or perform other treatments.  Depending on the nature of the visit, there may be a technician accompanying the veterinarian.  If not, we will ask you to help us love on,  distract, and hold your pet for their exam.

  • Be prepared for payment the day of the visit.

    • We accept debit cards, credit cards, and cash. There will be a 3% convenience fee added to the final invoice on all debit and credit card transactions.  We appreciate payment for all for services at the time they are provided. Invoices with a payment link can be emailed or texted through our veterinary software program.

  • Let us know if we can take pictures of your pet(s)!

    • We would like to include you and/or your pet on our website and Facebook page.  We completely understand if you don't want your pet’s picture posted online -  just let us know!
